To be, Or not to be

Well, I just got off th phone with Steve, he has our floor installed and two coats of epoxy on the top of the floor. The small section in the galley needs to be replaced still, and he is waiting on the other gallon of bottom paint to come in to finish the bottom. 1/2 of the hull has been polished and waxed. Steve said he can see a reflection of himself in the gelcoat, she is going to look really good.

Gina is checking on the cushions, and I am making a list of rigging we will need to replace. I have 6 months to go to vet her in tip top shape, looking like a down hill run from here. I think we all are very happy of the progress from Clearwater Bay.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend, I think we have another week till she goes back in the water.

Down in the dumps

Yesterday I fixed a 1.5" scupper hose that had a slit in it causing the boat to fill with water. I had closed the scupper but with all the rain I am sure the scuppers at the rear had filled up or got blocked and overfilled the cabin.

Here are shots of under the cockpit floor, I need to clean this area and remove all the mud from wasps.

This is the area I had to crawl thru to get to the starboard scupper.

Floor is in!!!

We met Chris and Gina at the boat at 11:00. The floor was having the bungs installed by Cherokee woody. Everything is new and he will be installing the finish next week, the hull has one of the three coats of bottom paint on it and we are ready to get started on the cabin sides and to re-seal the portlights.

Here is the shot of the hull

The keel is looking good.

Here is a shot of the rudder, still am a little worried about the rudder sticking on the hull?

Here is the old floor used as a template, drum roll please...

And the floor.

Main Sail

I took the main sail and the main cover home two weeks ago to clean, the first was the cover and today I did the main with the help of my wife Kim. The main had allot of mud caked into it due to mud dobbers making their home in our sail. The shape of the sail would rate an 8+ in my book, every thing looks good and all of the seams are sewn together, no real chafe except for the head plate. I started cleaning at 1:30 and finished up at 5:00. There are still slight spots from the mud but it cleaned up better than expected.

The sail has #22 ? we have hull 23 as the hin numbers state, I will check and see if the genoa has the correct number or is the same as the main sail.

It was a good day, the floor should be in the boat, Steve told me he was going to do the work Friday, I am looking forward to seeing the inside put back together soon. I am still waiting on the price for the liner, I do know Mike said something like 900.00 for the materials and for her to make it, Steve is going to get me a price, it's been three weeks.........The boat is scheduled to be pit back in the water next weekend, we will see.
